    Since this is obviously an issue limited to the software bundled with the realtek driver, have you tried DriverBooster or similar freeware driver tools to see if they pick up anything other than the ACER download? Jack E/NJ

    I bought it in January 2017.
    I don't find any noticeable differences with or without dolby (as long as dolby audio is uninstalled).
    I have already tried several realtek drivers until the last available.
    As already mentioned, nobody works properly.

    I apologize for the delay, I had a lot of things to do ...
    However nothing to do, even with driver booster no change.
    The drivers are the same and same problems.
    I give up. :(

    I think part of the problem is that when Windows update updates the Realtek driver it somehow uninstalls or corrupts Dolby and there is a defined process to reinstall, just follow these steps but DO NOT uninstall your current Realtek driver.
    Please click Yes if this answers your question

    1. Go to Control Panel/Uninstall Program and uninstall anything that says Dolby.
    2. Go to your support page and download the Realtek Audio Driver and save it to the Desktop (I know it's already installed but please do it)
    https://www.acer.com/ac/en/US/content/support-product/7094?b=1
    3. Open the file but do NOT run the Realtek installer. Instead Double click on DAX2 then double click X64 then double click on DAX2 App Release, answer yes to any  security popups.
    When it has installed Restart then go back to your start menu from the windows Icon and see if Dolby is now there, if it is click it and the black Dolby Icon can be dragged to your Taskbar. This has worked for me when I had a similar problem to yours

    Did your dax2 also de-activate after waking from sleep mode? Jack E/NJ

    I had already tried ... no way.
    The only solution is to create a .reg file that modifies the log file at every awakening with task scheduler (via .bat file and high permissions):
    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SOFTWARE \ Dolby \ DAX]
    "{0BD9A262-CCC8-49cd-A8E9-59D9DD33F298}, 0" = dword: 00000001
    "0F419232-0F94-4ca8-A362-05217674D9F0 {}, 1" = dword: 00000001
    "HelpImprove" = dword: 00000001
    "DolbyEnable" = dword: 00000001
    "ActiveProfile" = dword: 00000002

    Yes man but, what can I do? By now I have tried them all ...
    The .reg file is the only solution.

    This seems like more of an annoying driver bug than a hardware issue. If it was mine, I would do without. Jack E/NJ
