Simply means your Windows version is 1803 or earlier. Press Win+R. Enter 'winver'. What version do you see? Jack E/NJ

Let us know of the full model of your laptop as well, I'm curious as to why you weren't offered a newer Windows build already. There could be something blocking the upgrade from being delivered to your machine but you can always run the upgrade yourself by using the Media Creation Tool.

It'll tell you if there were any incompatibilities detected as well and the process is pretty much next next next ;)

Right click the Windows start icon. Search 'update'. Click 'check for updates' in system settings. Check to see what's available. Then click the download button. Jack E/NJ

That program can update your Windows installation to a newer release if it's not offered through Windows Update, and it can also point out any incompatibility that may be stopping you from getting updated (like have X program installed for example).

It can also by used to create installation media (e.g. a USB stick) to install the latest version of Windows somewhere else. Upon running it it'll ask you if you want to upgrade the current system or create installation media, choose the former and follow the instructions.

It takes some time but it's pretty straight forward, and as with any other Windows upgrade no personal files are lost during the process.

However, before you do, open ControlPanel. Search 'restore point'. Click 'create a restore point' in the left pane. In the box that opens, make sure the system protection option is turned on.

    Hey,
you can install the latest version, 1909, here:
    https://www.microsoft.com/en-ca/software-download/windows10
1909 will get rid of that annoying box. 1803 is pretty outdated!
    You should get updating quick

Hi, ive got the same problem too here, mine is showing the same error "Your device is missing important security and quality fixes", and ive tried every solution available, except trying to download the updates manually. I wonder if downloaded the update manually could fix the problem? and yeah my version is 1809

Yes, it probably will. But before you do, make sure SystemProtection is turned on in ControlPanel's restore point app just in case it creates problems. Jack E/NJ
