G3-571 - FPS Drops After Repasting CPU & GPU

So yesterday i followed this guide to repaste my cpu and gpu since my temperatures were always causing thermal throttling, i used the same thermal paste and pads as in the video:

For some reason when I'm playing games, my GPU usage spikes to 100% at random and my fps drops to 10fps from for 5 or so seconds and my gpu usage goes from 60% to 100% without much change for my CPU. Any idea what could be causing this and how i could fix it?

    Solved the problem!! Repasted it properly this time using a better amount of paste and rubbing alcohol to properly clean the CPU/GPU. Also i cleaned the air vents for the fans as they were completely clogged with dust which may have impacted performance dramatically

    So what ACER model number are you trying to play games on? What games? Jack E/NJ

    Waddlesworth how are your temps now after the repaste and which thermal paste did you applied (i suggest kryonaut always) if they are still high theres your fps drops issues its a bad repaste you would have to do it again and i dunno which method you used but the best its the spread method just a thin layer covering both diodes its enough too much its bad same as too less if the temps are ok could be something to do with drivers or some windows updates you can try a battery power drain followed with a bios setup defaults or even stock recovery clean install to rule out any software issues but make sure to backup whatever you need first

    G3-571 (i7-7700HQ GTX 1060), pretty much any game that is somewhat demanding for the GPU (even older games like Dark Souls Remastered)

    GPU and CPU temps do reach 95 on high loads, so maybe i should do a better repaste again. I did use kryonaut so i'll probably try doing a better job since i may have used too much and i'll try a different cleaning solution for cleaning the cpu since there will still bronze colours on the GPU mostly
