I have a Acer Aspire x1930 Desktop, I am unable to upgrade to Win 10 - Live Chat informs me that this Model is only good to work in Windows 7.  Surely there must be a way to upgrade this unit to Win 10.  Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Actually, I believe Windows 10 is only not supported with the Sandy Bridge Atom processors, the Pentium G630 should work. You will likely have to install using compatibility mode the graphics drivers for onboard video since Intel is no longer updating drivers for the H61 Express. The BIOS also only supports Legacy booting, so no UEFI. W10 does support Legacy boot though so it's not a game changer. You can also upgrade your processor to most any of the 2nd gen CPUs, including an i7-2600.

    Hi,
Check whether your system meets the hardware requirements in the first link, then use Windows Update assistant to update to Windows 10, please make sure you backup everything and create a recovery USB disk, in case anything goes wrong with a program like Macrium reflect free or similar.

Thanks for your time - i have checked the systems requirements and as far as I can tell all requirements are met for Win 10 - only thing I'm not 100% sure of is - "Graphics card: DirectX 9 or later with WDDM 1.0 driver".   (MY SNID is: XXXXXX).  I have followed all suggestions ie. re: removing all peripherals, uninstalling Virus Checker programs etc. - upgrade still stops and hangs at approx 89%.

Do you think it could be a Driver issue?

Just found this thread online: "The G630 CPU uses the Sandy Bridge architecture which has no support for Windows 10 per Intel's page.    Thanks again for your time and assistance much appreciated.  Cheers.  Maybe I'll try to upgrade to Win 8.1 and get a few more years support out of this PC.
