Hi

Just unboxing Acer A315-22 and ... it’s dead.
Before I take it back to point of purchase, is there something else I should be doing.

Laptop is plugged in via supplied mains charger.
Pressing the on/off button does nothing.
There’s no visible battery charging indicator.

TIA

When I first got mine, upon pressing the power button it wouldn't turn on, my first thoughts were... "does it really come with a drained battery?"

But it seems all I had to do was plug it to the AC adapter and it would then power up just fine, all in all I think it may have been a factory precaution of sorts, odd, but yeah...

Still, you say you plugged it in and there's still no sings of life... let's see, with the adapter unplugged if you press the power button for 15 (I know :D) seconds, does something happen afterwards? Maybe then trying to power the unit as you normally would (with or without the AC adapter plugged in)?

If nothing else seems to work then yep, you may need to have it replaced for another one :/
