I have the 2019 Helios 300 with a 256gb NVMe ssd.  I'm going to add a 1tb to the second m.2 slot.  Is there a way to make the computer see them as 1 big drive or will I just have to set it up as a second drive?

Thanks

300 you cant create a raid0 array with 2 drives of different sizes if you try to do so only your smaller drive will be seen on windows you need 2 drives same size/form factor and preferably brand for raid 0 also i dont recommend it at all if one fails (not usual but might happen make sure to have regularly backups done when on raid0) or the raid array get corrupted you loose everything on both drives but its your own choice in the end :)

Thank you for the quick response.  What you said makes sense.  It's my 9 year old's laptop so I was hoping to simplify it for him but I guess it shouldn't be too bad to just direct games to be installed on the big drive.  It'll be good for him to learn some of this anyway.

    Thanks again!

300 sorry i wanted to write (different sizes) not same size :) and just updated my post above here an explanation of how raid works and the data safety aspects again this will only work with drives same size/form factor

Here is a list of the most used RAID levels:
    • RAID 0 (Disk striping): RAID 0 splits data across any number of disks allowing higher data throughput. ...
    • RAID 1 (Disk Mirroring): ...
    • RAID 5 (Striping with parity): ...
    • RAID 6 (Striping with double parity): ...
    • RAID 10 (Striping + Mirroring):
