Hi. I just had enough. My laptop is running around 95°C on CPU and 90+ on GPU. I have cooling pad, i was running throttlestop to keep CPU around 3GHz and now my laptop started turning GPU off after it reaches critical temp. How should i make reclamation to get rid of this unrepairable junk and get my money back? Is there some sort of mass lawsuit running around? I would love to join it.

Yours sounds broken. Why don't you send it in under warranty?

Preferable method would be beating head engineer or marketing fool or whoever make this happend by that laptop to his head until he would swear he would never make it again...but you know...

Okay, so you don't want Acer to make it right under warranty, and you don't want to repair it yourself? What do you want?

You run a business and this is your only computer?

I am starting so yeah, i use only one computer with low specs for my work since my last PC died. Thats why i am so angry. I will loose lot of money. I wont be fixing laptop myself since it is broken from factory and stupid laws in my country force me to get Acer 30 days for repair or whatever. Even then i cant be shure they will fix it. Thats my case, thats why i need to just change laptop and not wasting my time. I would love to see you wake up, take a look on render and figure out there was an error thanks to GPU overheat after 20+ hours, making you wait another 20+ hours, forcing fans to 6000+RPM....

That's a real bummer, sounds like your in for a do it yourself re-paste since you cant be down for 30 days. It only takes about an hour, if you need any help let me know. XXXXXXXXXXXXX. Class action wont work, as it's not a majority of the products. Standard suit wont work either since they are offering you a good faith remedy (ie the warranty).

Just out of curiosity, did you ever fiddle with the power options?  Under power plans>advanced>processor power management> system cooling policy> there is an option for passive vs. active...if you run it on passive she will get quite toasty and throttle.

Yeah ive tryied everything. It is just badly made laptop. That whole overheat thing was running since around 2010. Then some jerk figured out that PCB is bending after some time by temperatures. And they made feature out of that. Laptop will just die after like 2 years and you can buy new one. Smart huh...i have that from guy who services laptops since forever. Why do you think most of reviews will tell you only some informations about cooling, PCMAG is not even saying ANYTHING about temperatures. If they will, they wont get more things for reviews. Thats how it works. And stupid poeple will keep staring at you, thinking you are mad if you use laptop for serious things.

    Acer Predator Helios 300 Overheating?

Scroll through any reviews of the Acer Predator Helios 300, and you’ll likely run across someone with stories of major overheating and falling performance.

To see how well the Predator Helios 300 holds up under a load, we cranked up the Unigine Heaven benchmark and let it loop for five hours while monitoring the GPU’s performance clock speeds. Because graphics benchmarks rarely push the CPU hard, we also ran Cinebench using four threads to see how much performance suffered. Cinebench results were consistent, and after five hours, the GPU’s clock speeds remained consistent.

We then let the Predator Helios 300 continue to loop Heaven overnight. In the morning we checked the GPU clocks and Cinebench results, and we found nothing had changed.

Does this mean the that some of the user experiences are invalid? No, but it means our particular unit had no overheating issues. We will say that this isn’t the end of the story. The CPU did occasionally hit its a power limit throttle and thermal limit throttle. Power throttling keeps the CPU within its thermal limit, while thermal throttling means the CPU is bumping right into its thermal limits. Both are indications that the Predator Helios 300 operates right at the margin of its design.

And BTW...running underclocked CPU is not normal state of using that...when i buy 4GHz 6 core CPU with 12 threads means, i want to use it. Not having 3.4GHz CPU out of it thanks to bad cooling.

I am very sorry to hear this, unfortunately, the Acer community is not a direct portal customer support consultation, case status, complaints, parts requests/orders or sponsorship/donations request, the Acer Community (Forum Discussions), were designed as a peer to peer support community where Acer users help other Acer users with their questions or troubleshooting inquiries. Your unit will need to be sent for repair for diagnosis and repair:
