Hello,
I have Acer Nitro 5 AN515-52 with 4gb of RAM DDR4 (2667 MHZ) which I bought just this month. I am planning to add another RAM, is it possible to partner my 4gb RAM with 8gb RAM having the same speed? Also, would the warranty be voided if I upgrade the RAM without going the ACER service center? Thank you.

Hi,
If you don't have a warranty warning sticker on the memory door screw, you can upgrade the memory with 8GB DDR4 2666 MHz module but it's better to get the confirmation from the Acer Support centre in your region. If you have the warranty warning sticker is on the screw, you have to upgrade through the Acer Support centre.

Yes you can install the same speed RAM but you will loose warranty if you do it yourself, so I would suggest you to contact Acer Support centre and upgrade our laptop.0

What nation are you in? In the USA that sticker is illegal anyway so you can just rip it off and upgrade your memory.
You shouldn't pair an 8GB stick with a 4GB stick as the ram will run in single channel, which will halve the memory performance.
Either get another 4GB stick or 2x 8GB sticks.

@Jimster480 Judging by the English grammar I don't think he's in the USA. @Chito2k9 it is also illegal in some other countries, contact the Acer support for your region and check with them http://www.acer.com/worldwide/support/#_ga=2.178343012.1565315166.1568641242-218381942.1567545004, some people have got the OK.
If they say it's OK I entirely agree that 4 + 8 is a waste of money. 8gb + 8gb will operate in Dual channel mode and will be way better. The link below is to Crucial who guarantee compatibility for your exact model. Don't order from them, instead write down the part number and order from Amazon, cheaper and faster delivery.

Thanks brummyfan2. I checked my laptop and there is a warranty sticker. On this note, is it okay to pair 4GB DDR4 RAM with a new 8GB DDR 4 RAM wit the sane MHZ?
Also, can I buy the 8GB DDR4 RAM to any store or should it be only to the ACER service center?
Thanks.0 -
