    Hi,

    Press and hold the fn key on keyboard.   While holding the fn, please try to press the keys f1 to f12 just to check whether you are getting the display back.  Please remember these keys are toggle keys.   Once you get the display back on pressing a particular key please don't press the other keys.   What ever key you pressed to get the display back is the toggle key to turn the back light on or off of your display screen.  Once you got the display back you can once again press the fn and other keys which you pressed to restore the functionality of those keys.      Please remember each and every function key from f1 to f12 has got their own respective functionality..

    You can try these keys first.  Instructions will vary from model to model and that is the reason, encouraged you to press the other keys.   Please look at the symbol of keys before you press it.

    <Fn> + <F4>

     Sleep Puts the computer in Sleep mode.

    <Fn> + <F5> Display toggle

    Switches display output between the
    display screen, external monitor
    (if connected) and both.

    <Fn> + <F6> Display off

    Turns the display screen back light off
    to save power. Press any key to
    return.
