I've been scouring the internet for a solution to this, and cannot find anything similar. I have tried all the fixes that I have seen, and nothing has helped. Loaded BIOS, tried switching to advanced mode, and that made the touchpad go away completely. Switched back to basic and it worked, went back to settings and there are no touchpad options other than the sensitivity. I have downloaded and installed both drivers but they are not showing up in the device manager even after restarting.

Any ideas how to fix this?

    Hi,
You need to have selected Advanced mode in BIOS, could you please expand Human Interface Devices and Mice and other pointing devices, post the snip.
Have a look at this thread and follow the methods suggested:https://community.acer.com/en/discussion/576405/touchpad-synaptics-elan-not-showing-in-device-managers

I did this already and the touchpad completely disappeared from settings after I changed it. Also, when I go into the human interface devices, the synaptics HID device does not show even after installing the drivers.

    Hi,
You may not have Synaptics and may have Elantech HID Device, first of all you need to determine actual HID device, so in Device manager, highlight and right click HID-compliant mouse(if available) and select Properties, go to Details tab and check Hardware IDs as shown in my snip, you can check the Hardware ID of your HID device in Human Interface Devices as well.
Then download appropriate driver from Acer Support site, go to BIOS and switch to Basic mode, install the downloaded driver, go back to BIOS and switch to Advanced mode. Please read the link I have posted in my previous post for more explanations.

So, when I go into the mice and other pointing devices, this is what I see (with hidden items showing...) The only things that I have plugged in at the moment are a microphone and headset.
