My Acer R11 Chromebook battery does not charge past 77%

Yesterday, while I had my laptop plugged in, Chrome OS updated itself to Version 62.0.3202.82 (Official 
Build) (64-bit)

 . While it was doing that, my battery icon was red and it took for over (over 4 hours) to complete.Then, just before it had fully installed, my computer went dead, showing the battery was empty. That had never happened before.

. I have tried a few hard resets; then a power-wash. Then I ran a battery test showing my battery health is 93.5% with 1.15% discharging  in 300 seconds.

After all that, still won't charge past 77%.

I must tell you that I use my chromebook several hours a day, and keep it plugged in throughout the entire time it's on.

Can someone help me fix my battery charging problem?

    Acer service claims that a new Chrome update caused certain Chromebook batteries to indicate shorter battery life.  However usage time should not be unaffected and they expect a future Chrome update will fix the issue. Your crosh battery test seems good, but see if your usage time on just battery is less than available previously if you ever ran it on battery alone.

    And here we are September 2019 and the newer Chromebook R751T is having the same issue. Acer keeps on saying the fix is in beta and being tested by Google.

    And we keep right on waiting for Google to fix it. It seems every time they roll a fix out, it doesn't affect all models...
