Aspire 7 A717-72G-71YD : Scratching noise from CPU drives me crazy

Hey guys,
I bought my Aspire 7 (A717-72G-71YD) last year in October. I used it a couple of hours, until I noticed a scratchy sound coming
from the CPU area. It's not a high pitched noise, but rather like something scratching when the CPU fan is running. I noticed
that it becomes heavier when I switch the power plan from best efficiency to full power.

I already sent the Laptop to Acer two times. Two times, they told me they had replaced the whole Mainboard (wtf, why?) and two times,
the scratchy sound came again... So I'm absolutely annoyed by this since I spent around 1000€ for it and recently used my old Aspire V3
which is far too slower but doesn't drive me crazy like this.

I've recorded the sound and uploaded it here: https://vocaroo.com/i/s1DqMM0sPPGO

Do you have any ideas what I can do? The warranty will end soon, but I'm also not confident at all that Acer would fix the problem if
I send it to them again...

When you fans at maximum, using the nitro sense program, is the noise more evident?

Huh... and you're certain it comes from the CPU area.

It may not be related, but, I see the M.2 slot in that model is located right next to it, there's something called commonly called coil whine that can happen with some power regulators as they're switching. Pretty much any component can be susceptible to producing such a sound (it's kind of like rattling): CPUs, GPUs, SSD controllers, etc.

Maybe that's why Acer techs replaced your motherboard thinking that was the issue here (I doubt it has to do with the fans, although it could be possible too.

The important thing would be to pinpoint which component is generating the noise, if it is related to the SSD controller or that I/O part of the system it can probable be aggravated when you run a disk benchmark. For example, download and run CrystalDiskMark in your main drive and see if the noises appear (let it run until the end because it sometimes happens during 4K testing).

Another thing I'd do, which may not be suitable for everyone but given the abundance of disassembly manuals and videos online as long as you follow instructions it should be fairly simple, is disassemble the bottom cover to expose the internals and then try to replicate the sound, see where it comes from. That should give you a better idea on what's going on. Maybe it's just the fan fins that need cleaning, who knows.
