Hi is there any acer tool to search and automaticly instal new driver or you have to download drivers from acer site and instal them manual? If yes you instal them on existing ones you have installed?

Schnaz I would also like to add that you dont need to have the drivers updated for the hardware to work properly sometimes the issues are cause by updated drivers delivered by the windows update itself so my advice is  if you dont have issues with the older drivers leave it as it is dont let windows update them only update them if you start to have issues and update them manually its always the best option (use windows update only if everything else fails) this goes to all drivers for all hardware anyway this is just my best advice regarding driver updates

No, there isn't one. You have to do it manually. Also, Acer never provides updated drivers from the support site. They are delivered through Windows Update and Device Manager. BIOS updates are provided both from support site and Device Manager though. Whenever you update your WIndows 10 build, newer drivers get installed automatically, so don't worry on that regard. If somehow you still need newer version than the one provided through the above means, use the Hardware ID of a specific device and install it through Device Manager. I have updated my Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and Ethernet driver using their respective Hardware IDs from Driverpack Solutions website manually.

Acer unfortunately does not provide updated drivers on their website. They recommend we run windows update to install updated drivers, but for some reason windows update does not detect when an updated driver is available for your hardware. For example, I tried to search for an updated driver for my Killer Wireless Adapter through windows update, and it kept on saying that the latest drivers were already installed, which was not true. The drivers installed on my system were from February 2019. Killer has released multiple drivers after that time and the latest one was released on August 2, 2019. I had to go to Killers website to download and install the latest drivers for my Predator Helios 500.

The latest drivers fixed a problem with my Wifi adapter that previously, after every reboot, it would for some reason negotiate a very slow connection with my router, typically at 144 Mbps in the 2.4 GHz band. I had to disable and re-enable the wireless adapter manually multiple times to get it to connect at the 5 GHz AC band and at full speed of 866 Mbps. Now with the updated driver, it connects at the fastest speed automatically. I do not have to fiddle with it.

You can also download and install the video drivers from Nvidia or AMD.

I am really concerned with the Realtek audio drivers, my current drivers are form 7/10/2018, the driver version is 6.0.1.8485, and UI version is 1.1.135.0. This is very old. The latest Realtek drivers are form June/July 2019 with version 6.0.8750.1 and UI version 1.5.190.0, however, every time I try to find the update drivers from windows update it says that the best drivers are already installed. Now with Realtek it gets very tricky as you need to install the exact driver that matches you Hardware ID. I have been unable to find it manually till now.

I am 100% sure that Realtek provides Acer with the updated drivers periodically, but to keep costs down, they do not wish to test them or provide them to the end users.

Provide the hardware ID for your Realtek device. My driver version is 6.0.8757.1 dated 17/7/19. It also has updated my Dolby Audio app. PC is Predator G3-572 from 2017.

I am currently on vacation, and have left my Helios 500 at home, when I get back I will list the Hardware ID, it should be the same for all Helios 500 users, as all of them have the same chip. But how were you able to update your drivers, from windows update or by manually finding a driver?

The point I was making was that Acer should provide updated drivers for their products on their website. I have wonderful experience in the past with Lenovo and HP, as they at least keep on providing drivers for their PCs for many years after their release date.

Well im with Acer since 2009/10 and the drivers they release are the customized ones for the best performance of every device and they will never update them because (at least for all the models i own) as they all still work fine and neither do i if there no issues theres no need to update any drivers i still use all the acer stock drivers including the igpu from 2017 the only driver i had updated manually was the nvidia and just because some games demanded it they wouldnt support the stock driver anymore for ex bf5 etc but only updated to the driver needed (416.94) when it was released never updated again still on the same driver and no issues with any games including all latest and as always my suggestion to everyone only update what you need if you have issues and manually its always the best way and windows will not update anything on any of my laptops because the first thing i do its to disable the updates permanently to not have any future issues due to bad updates anyway this is just me and my previous experience with acer laptops of course everyone is free to update to the latest but bare in mind not always the latest its the best

I agree with you, there is no need to update drivers if everything works fine. But as I mentioned above, the Wifi drivers were giving me issues and a driver update resolved those issues. So there is a case for keeping your drivers updated. Sometimes there are changes in the OS that require a driver update, or sometimes bugs are identified in drivers later on, then you have no choice but to update your drivers. Manufactures sometimes also introduce new or better options to control their hardware through a driver update.

Acer should provide updated drivers, and then leave it for the consumers to decide if they want to update their drivers or not.

    Hi.

I just wanted to comment on the situation with the Realtek audio driver problems Razamax is having with his machine.

It appears Realtek did release some new drivers to Acer but for recent model laptops only in late June 2019.
Examples - I found this 6.0.8699.1 Realtek audio driver posted for a newer Predator machine and it may work with his specific model.
8699 is FULLY compatible with and certified for Windows 10 version 1903 and later.

So I finally had some time to search for Realtek drivers for my specific hardware using the hardware ID on MS catalog, and the only options that came up were the same driver that is currently installed, 6.0.1.8485 from 7/10/2018!

Helios 500 Realtek audio chip hardware ID  HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_10EC&DEV_0299&SUBSYS_10251243

I do not know why there are no updated drivers for this particular chip, as Realtek has been releasing continuous driver updates for all other platforms.

Thanks, for this driver. I see that my HW ID is present in the .inf file, so I assume that this will work for my system. So, the question is, why is this driver not listed as an update on the Acer website or MS drivers catalog for my specific Hardware ID?

By the way, do you have the link to the drivers page from where you pulled this driver or maybe just the model number of this new Acer Predator?

Razamax it wouldnt be listed on Acer support page (on older models) because the drivers there arent updated they are all customized for that particular model when it comes out and they all still work fine (most of the audio ethernet drivers of the latest models should work fine on older models if they have the same components)  regarding MS thats really strange why is not listed because they are always saying that they will always have the most up to date drivers available for all devices :p so i would probably ask MS why that driver its not listed in the updates :)
