I installed a Samsung 860 EVO 1TB SSD in my Acer Aspire E15 E5-576G-5762 and I couldn't see it in file explorer? I also used an external sata SSD to USB, to try to see the new SSD on my desktop computer, which was also using Windows 10. I couldn't see the SSD on either systems. What could be wrong?

Right click on the SSD in DiskMgmt.msc. In the menu that pops up, make the whole drive a simple volume. It should then let you assign a drive letter. Choose E : since your DVD is already D : . Then it should ask you to format it. Choose NTFS.  After DiskMgmt.msc is finished doing its thing, you should be able to see an empty E : drive in FileExplorer. Jack E/NJ

@JackE, Thank you so much for the help. When Windows10 came out, I lost all sense of direction where things were so simple in DOS. You have taught me a lot. Thank you again my friend!

You can't see it in FileExplorer probably because it probably hasn't been formatted yet. Install it again. Then press WIN+R. Enter 'diskmgmt.msc' . What do you see? Post a screenshot if possible. Jack E/NJ

@JackE, I did as you suggested and saw that the SSD had not been initialized. I went ahead and initialized the drive, GPT, as it is a second drive and not the primary boot drive. I haven't done anything else to the drive. I still can't see it in File Explorer. What are the steps I need to do to be able to use the drive for storing my documents and pictures? Attached is the screen print you requested.
    Thanks for your help
