Predator 300 2019 1660ti Overheating?

Hiya folks, so I was having some issues with my new Predator helios 300 that I ended up fixing with a fresh windows 10 reinstall.
However, after reinstalling everything including drivers, software, and programs from the product downloads page for my laptop, and updating the bios I'm getting temps that I know for a fact aren't normal on this machine.

Playing For Honor I was hitting 92c on the CPU with Turbo mode enabled.
With turbo disabled I was hitting 85-88.
In the past, the hottest this thing has gotten on FH was 82c max, cooler than that at most times as I always play with turbo mode on.

I also seem to be missing my Acer power plan in my windows power plans, which I found to work much better than Balanced or High performance for me personally.
Would it be something to do with the power plan, and if so is there any way I could download it from somewhere?
As I know it's not a fault of the hardware, because the temps were fine before my reinstall.

Should I contact Acer to see if they can help or is it something completely simple I'm just overlooking?

Check the power plan... since windows 1809 windows power plan pushes CPU to turbo even when it is not necessary to ramp up to those speeds. You would need to enable hidden power plan settings in order to view these options. You mentioned fresh windows 10 install - if you installed 1809 or later, this could be one of the possible reasons.

Will try these settings, I've also sent in a support email to Acer.
And I've just noticed this when downloading a game from steam, these were my temps on auto fans with cool boost enabled, This seems far too hot?

Steam download pushes up CPU load... esp with antivirus on that checks every byte of data downloaded. Even on my super optimized system temps hit about 65 when downloading large games.

I use the PH717's Predator Sense on my G3-572. Upon starting the system, the fans would be running on max speed and PS would report a temperature 15-20°C more than throttlestop. Like right now, average CPU temperature on TS is 48°C while PS is reporting 60°C and making fans run at some high speed. Running TS later fixes this issue and then PS recognises similar temps to TS.

Where can I find a way to enable these hidden power settings? Right now I only seen min/max processor state and cooling policy. I'd like to try these changes for my device (same as OP) which seems to be running warmer than it should, >90C when gaming.

Install ParkControl - freeware. Enable option to show additional options under power options. Keep or remove the freeware based on your mood.

tropictrout you can also enable them via regedit ( if you google it youll find it but i dont advise it if you dont have experience editing regedit)

Thank you both for your help. I had tried the regedit changes, but that seemed to only unlock the 'ultimate performance' power plan preset. I'll look into parkcontrol.

I had tried both Windows 1809 and 1903 on PH315-52 and it was an impression that 1903 makes laptop to load more and noise was more also but Im not sure
Can anyone recommend what’s better to use - 1809 or 1903?

Stick to xx09 versions of Windows ... until they xx09 seem to be more stable than xx03 versions. I got on xx03 for the only reason that i was finally moving up from windows 7 to 10.

I'm running 1809 and all I see are the 3 listed above. I don't have the 'processor energy performance preference' box.

Probably 1903 has cpu more power management options because probably it needs more tweaking as its not as stable as 1809 as far as i had seen but until i have serious issues will not be moving up :)

To everyone who might be interested i just found a bat file to unlock all the power hidden options (its was made for win7 but will show all the options on win10) just run the bat file and voila everything is there :)

Heres just a quick peek (caution changing any of the settings if your not sure what they are for you might get the system to be unstable so again very caution when changing anything)

PS: use at your own risk

ive been surfing this community since 5 months now , there is no soft fix for this , most people recommend thermal repaste, but  that voids warranty. or send it for service but most of the time service centers  do more harm than good. :/ . i havent heard that any one got a better result with a software fix.
