Hello,

I have an Acer EB490QK with a remote control and trying to find out what IR profile it is using in order to get it working with a FireTV stick for power on button and volume control. However I am not able to find any information about the profile in the manual. Can anyone help?

Not sure, if you got me right. I am not having any acer notebook. The EB490QK is a monitor with an IR remote control.

I have the same problem. I need the IR profile number from the EB490QK monitor. "Martin" seems very unhelpfull so far, not even understanding that the Acer product is not a laptop.... FAIL.

I'm sure Martin is doing a copy'n'paste, asking for the full model number on your monitor. There are different model numbers based on whether it has speakers or not and likely also for different locales. I don't see anything about IR profiles in either the User or Service Manual. Many of the alternate remotes have a 'learn' mode where you can point your OEM remote at the new remote to learn the codes. Does your Fire Stick do that?

From my research, I believe the remote for this monitor was added post-production via a 3rd party manufacturer, which might explain your difficulty in finding the IR Profile.

Using my Harmony Hub + Remote, I was able to program my remote using an older Acer Projector as the base device then I taught the remote using the hub.

Know this wasn’t what you were looking for, but might help you achieve your goal

Note: there’s a slightly newer version of this monitor that apparently unlocks HDR capability within Win10 Display settings. Both have same remote I believe
