I suspect the thermal paste was badly applied i applied kryonaut myself and my temps went down 25+ after optimizing/undervolting everything over 90 its not acceptable what is acceptable in high demanding games its from 75/85 and 85 its already almost hitting the limits before throttling
The engineer applied a fine layer on the CPU, GPU and the heatsink. Didn't seem like he missed something as it was properly spread.

I ran a CPU stress test for 5 minutes, maximum temperature it went was 96.

    Maybe I can undervolt more? It's at - 0.140 V

I'm getting blue screens again, after booting up again, the temperature I see was 98 degrees. I was playing Warframe with its default settings.

Was thermal paste reapplication futile? Could something else be messed up?

This is my first gaming laptop, and I'm truly disappointed with having so much to deal with. The same games work well on my regular laptop(I know the settings are set accordingly, but still.)

Hey, after looking at this post, I followed everything regarding power options and setting default graphics processor: https://community.acer.com/en/discussion/comment/650401/#Comment_650401

I also realised that I forgot to undervolt when the 98 degrees happened. I re-added the task to turn on XTU at login.

Both the temperatures are under 80 degrees now. In fact, it's consistent between 69-71. I hope to see such temperatures in future. The post was helpful.

I took Intel XTU Benchmark test, the max frequency reduced from 3.9 GHz to 2.09. But temperatures have reduced from 90s to 67 degress.

I actually messaged Red-Sand but unfortunately there was no reply.
  • Have you already confirmed that this temperature is also displayed on hwmonitor?

I haven't but I will now, after watching this video. I'll have to call the representative because he has left a screw inside my laptop, so I'll ask him to bring his cleaning tools too.

Hi there anyone reduced the temps by applying new thermal paste. I used arctic mx4 but it didn't work. Just let me know if it works for you.

Kryonaut here optimized undervolted dropped 25+ thermal paste has to be properly applied or it will only makeit worse not to much neither too less has to be the right amount and just a thin layer covering both diodes

So, I finally found the time to get back at my laptop again.
Back then when I posted this, I got Acer service engineer to replace my thermal paste with Kryonaut. But the problem still persisted, it literally made zero difference. The reason could've been all of these:
    1. The paste was improperly applied.
    2. The vents were not clean(Air was blowing only from 1/8th of the exhaust).
    3. Fan related issue.
I finally managed to make time and got Arctic MX-4. Contacted the service centre but they weren't able to reach me in time since I had to leave the city(also, I kind of lost faith in them).
So, today, I had to get a third party guy to clean and repaste it with MX-4.

He reported that my predator did have an issue related to the fans and he fixed it.
The exhaust was cleaned and now the entire thing blows out air.

Now I'm not sure if the purchase of this laptop was worth it since it arrived with those issues which threatened its life.

Anyway, after getting all that done and undervolting, I finally switched back to High Performance power mode(from 80% max processor state to 100%).

5 min stress test max temp was 63 C.
    Gaming:
    Destiny 2 (played for 20min)- max CPU: 77 C, max GPU: 70 C
    CSGO(10 min)- max CPU 74 C, max GPU : 64 C

Now just to make sure, I'll follow Red-Sand's advice to uninstall XTU and use TS instead.
I'll post in case I notice any issues again.

Thanks for helping me out guys!
