Uninstall and reinstall Microsoft ACPI Battery driver
    1. Press the Windows key + R on the keyboard.
    2. In the Run dialog box, type devmgmt.msc and press the Enter key on the keyboard.
    3. In Device Manager, click > or + sign next to Batteries.
    4. Right-click Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery, click Uninstall and restart you computer
    and also do BIOS Default

BIOS Default: As soon as you press the power button keep pressing the F2 key, so that it will take you to BIOS utility page. Now press F9 and press enter than press f10 and press enter. your unit will restart.

I have carried out the procedure described by Harisul September 2018 several times but no success I used to do this on my Medion years ago which worked every time but didn't work for the Acer.

I tried the ACPI Battery driver system incl the BIOS from Jack22 twice which also failed.
I then checked the Device Manager for details which confirmed the battery and charger were connected and ready. still not charging.
