Just bought an M5-581T-6405 and the fan is quite loud, is there a fan control? What should we do?

Is this normal or is this a defect from the factory. The production date was January of 2013 so it is really new.

Thank you

I am not sure how loud the fan acutally is, so it is hard to say if it is a hardware problem, or not. Is it loud as soon as the system boots, or does it only get loud when playing video or games?

Unfortunately, there is not a fan adjustment on this system, as it adjusts automatically. Did the store you purchased it from have a display model you can compare it to? If it is significantly louder than the display model, it may require service.

Have the same problem. The fan is pretty noisy even when I am using just Chrome of Microsoft Office. Are there any solutions about it?

It has something like cycles - sometimes I can not even hear it and then fan starts and create a noise.

I think it's just how the model is. It seems like the fan cycles from idle/low rpm to a loud mode at either a certain temperature or at a certain CPU usage. Either way, it's annoying at a level making the laptop unwanted.

I do not understand why Acer does not give the users a tool to control the fan cycles themselves.

I do not need a jet engine cooling off my CPU when reading reddit.
