Acer Nitro 5 (AN515-51-50U2) SSD upgrade...

So I bought the AN515-51-50U2 model. Along with the built-in 1 TB HDD in a SATA III 2.5" slot, there's also an additional, empty slot of type M.2 2280, which could use either SATA III interface or PCIe (4x) with NVMe. Is that right?

If it is, then, beyond being possible inserting a M.2 2280 SSD in the M.2 2280 slot...
  1. Can I insert a M.2 2.5" (interface SATA III or NVMe) SSD in the M.2 2280 slot?
  2. Can I insert a SATA III 2.5" SSD in the M.2 2280 slot?
  3. Can I replace the current SATA III 2.5" HDD with a SATA III 2.5" SSD?
Beyond that, from what I researched, NVMe SSDs exist for surpassing the 6 Gigabit/s limitation of SATA III interface. 6 Gigabit/s is ~0,75 Gigabyte/s, or ~730 Megabyte/s. Is that right? If it is, then would there be any performance difference between a M.2 interface SATA III 550MB/s and a M.2 interface NVMe 550MB/s?

It uses input M2 2280 sata III! There are reports that it supports NVME!
    1) Adapter m2 2,5 "can only be placed in place of hd and not in the entrance m2 2280!
    2) The 2.5 "SATA3 SSD can only be placed in place of the 2.5" HD!
    3) You can replace the 2.5 "HD with a 2.5" SATA III SSD!
The nvme is not a connector, but rather a specification to replace the ahci that designed for the hd and not for the ssd!

Os dois primeiros são compatíveis (ele suporta até 512gb)! O terceiro apenas há relatos de compatibilidade!

Sidthidej blue screen problems has many things to do with it but yours also says no bootable device can be found.
I am also in the lattest version of windows and version has nothing to do with your issue.
    Can u try these....
make a bootable windows 10 pendrive with MBR partision style.
Go to bios in your acer nitro 5 and set the boot mode to Legacy.
    enable f12 boot menu
dave and exit and upon restarting press f12.
If you see your ssd there, select and enter.
Some models has problem with uefi boot mode.

    Thank you KoushikD
I will try as you suggest and maybe I should change to transend 220s as you may not have a problem.

Hi, I have an acer nitro 5 and I was wondering is the hdd port sata III? I want to put a Western Digital WDS100T2G0A 1TB Solid Drive in the hdd slot but I don't want to be bottlenecked if the cable only is meant for sata I or II
