Can you post a link to the SSD that you purchased or the model number?
Always post the following characterisitcs of the device:
    -Model number
    -Part number(not required, but helpful)
    -CPU
    -GPU
    -Operating system

Helios 300 and Nitro 5 users DO NOT update the BIOS to version 1.22 if you don't want the keyboard's backlight to turn off after 30 seconds even when the device is plugged in.

    Hi,
Your model has no PCIe/NVMe SSD support, so I would suggest you to get a M.2 SATA SSD and install, for example, a Samsung 850 Evo or a 860Evo.

Unfortunately, @brummyfan2 is right, the device supports SSDs with SATA interfaces only, which is a bit weird considering that SATA only ports are with B key, while PCIe ports are M key(the port on your device is M key, despite being SATA).
