If this happens after sleep mode, there is a BIOS update you can try here https://www.acer.com/ac/en/US/content/support-product/6397?b=1  Jack E/NJ

Did the BIOS update fix the problem?  I have the same issue.  See post "Aspire R14 touchscreen problem" for more folks with the same issue!

I have the same issue and found no possible fix on the BIOS as mine are higher than the ones available on Acer's support site.... which is odd. Most of my bios versions are 1.12 and the closer available at the site says 1.10.... still with the problem.... for  now the only thing to do is to disable the touchscreen. My laptop says it was produced in Sept 2016, the related BIOS downloads are previous to that date and the ones from 2018 have nothing to do with the problem (sccm and such)

Then you're downloading the wrong BIOS from the wrong site if they're higher than 1.14 available on the ACER support site https://www.acer.com/ac/en/US/content/support-product/6397?b=1 for this model. Jack E/NJ

I also just encountered the same problem after updating Win 10 on my Acer Aspire R5-471T. After the update, the mouse started clicking by itself and the touch screen is no longer working. May I ask if there is a fix for this? Thanks.

Open Control Panel. Search 'restore point'. Click 'create a restore point' in the left pane. Check to make sure 'System Protection' is turned on. If yes, click 'system restore' button. Click next. Select the automatic restore point with a timestamp when the problem began. Wait for a future update to resolve the problem. Jack E/NJ
