crystal eye webcam

This is my second post about this topic as im hoping i can get some new ideas on how to solve this issue. I recently did a clean install of windows 7 on my acer aspire 5738z and am now having an issue with the webcam. It worked the day before with vista still installed but not anymore. ive tried the downloads on the acer driver website to no avial. Does anyone else have this issue? advice pleaseee

    hi,

     

    on acer download page you can select proper OS like W7 x64 and in Aplication tab you will find aplication for camera like Chicony or Suyin this should solve a problems

     

    there is 2 drivers/apps coz in this model one from two cameras may be installed.

    ok, what is you operation system ? and please check what is Hardware ID od camera, Device manager / expand imagine devices / 2x click on camera / go to Details TAB and from menu select Hardware ID, ctrl+c and past first ID here.

    win 7 ultimate 64bit via an iso on a flash drive. Under device manager i have no image device tab to expand. If i go to control pannel, hardware and sound, and then devices and printers, i have one that says unspecified CNF7017. When i click the details of this it says Sonix ST50220 USB Video Camera. This device says it is functioning properly and that the driver is up to date. I dont have a camera plugged in via usb just the bulit in webcam. I did a search for Sonix on google and they are the same company that makes the crystal eye webcam.

    Hi Gary,

    there was no Sonix webcam in Acer history, pls do this

    go in device manager, find the webcam (it may be marked as an unknown device), right click -> details tab -> hardware id from the drop down menu.

    if this will gona fail again please post here first 10 numbers of unit Serial numer should be in format lx.12345.123

    hello,

    under device manager there is no camera listed anywhere, only the sonix usb camera i described perviously. The serial number of the machine is ********
