There is a utility called DimScreen - try using it and set it at 10%. See if that helps.

Thumb rule: the higher the resolution, the higher the screen refresh rate for optimal viewing. For standard full HD (1920x1080), until 32" screen, a 60Hz refresh would suffice.

I use an external monitor, and i adjust its brightness and contrast meticulously to the modes I want (in fact I did the same to the two monitors I use at my work too) to minimize eye strain when using over extended periods.

Since you are talking about laptop inbuilt screen, you might want to try tuning your screen manually. On windows 7 (yes, I installed 7 on my G3-572) there is this built in utility called "calibrate display". A similar one should be there on windows 10 too. Try using it to see if that helps.

Also, open the NVIDIA control panel and go to "adjust desktop color settings". This should allow you set the values precisely to your needs.

I never had any issue with any screens through my life but all ppl are different just try to use either acer blue shield or windows night light to see if that works out better for you saying this my 60hz ips display has one of the best pictures of all laptops/pc's i ever had nad when i have free time to play i play for 10h + non stop(not advisable), and again if you are having headaches etc just make some more breaks frequently it's not advisable for anyone to stare at any display for long periods of time especially if it's causing issues another idea its those display screen filters you can buy to fit on it

Also make sure the screen is set to max brightness. I don't know if that is the case with the display panel on your helios 300, but many display panels use PWM to regulate brightness, which may cause eye strain to some people when the brightness is lower than 100%.
Always post the following characterisitcs of the device:
    -Model number
    -Part number(not required, but helpful)
    -CPU
    -GPU
    -Operating system

Helios 300 and Nitro 5 users DO NOT update the BIOS to version 1.22 if you don't want the keyboard's backlight to turn off after 30 seconds even when the device is plugged in.

The "calibrate Display" worked like charm!!! thanks man :) .

the normal issue claimed was this type helios 300 screens tend to have low brightness than the normal laptops, so some sites claimed installing color profile will fix it. so i installed it but didn't noticed any improved but still i set that as my default color profile. calibrated new color profile fixed my Eye Strain. also thanks to @xapim & @ven98

Unfortunately windows 10 GE nvidia drivers do not have the display option to calibrate but it can be calibrated via color management in the advanced tab
