Absolutely 0 information being supplied - as to the laptop model, SSD model, what those "certain applications" are.

@Naeklaer0r crappy SSD'S ? dunno what you are talking about and why are you even saying that if u have an issue post it if not i don't see any issue with any ssds reported before my original liteon works flawless and speed is really good for a m.2 sata just upgraded to a 2tb m.2 sata because i needed more space or else i wouldn't had upgraded if you have issues with your ssd it's probably faulty that happens but they are not crappy and as @sri369 said you gave us absolutely nothing don't expect us to flip a coin and guess what model/hardware you have also with that thread title you will not have much help it's not saying bad from a manufaturer that you will get there

any manufacturer that doesn't specify its component parts can be a lottery - the first acer i got (faulty), consistent read's of 500mb+.  The replacement to it, reads less than 400mb.  Different m.2 sata manufacturers.  It wasn't an issue as i was going to upgrade it anyway.

@Gawain all manufacturers do not specify any brands of the harware inside especially laptops so i don't see the issue here as they all do the same everywhere and if you were not happy you should had asked for a repair/replacement and i don't expect oem drives (that's what they are called) to reach 400 or 500mb read/write speeds even my wd 3d nand 2tb i get 546/508 so again i don't see any issue here the m.2 drives that come with the laptops are fast enough for the average user but if the user is not happy with it either ask for a replacement (i doubt they would replace as the drive is working fine) or just do like everyone else spend money and upgrade

i think you misread what i said, my Acer came with one then the other, not an issue as it wasn't listed from the manufacturer.    My thinkpad was listed, so i would have been grumpy had the samsung PCIe not come with it.  Some makes/models do, most consumer targeted stuff doesn't, its not all laptops like you say...

If it isn't mentioned anywhere that the SSD is NVMe and is listed only as M.2 SSD in the specs or just SSD, then it most likely is SATA SSD. If it was NVMe they would have listed it as such. They don't list the SSD brand and model number, but they do list whether it is an NVMe or not.

If you are using the laptop for gaming only, I don't see a reason why would you want a faster SSD.
Always post the following characterisitcs of the device:
    -Model number
    -Part number(not required, but helpful)
    -CPU
    -GPU
    -Operating system

Helios 300 and Nitro 5 users DO NOT update the BIOS to version 1.22 if you don't want the keyboard's backlight to turn off after 30 seconds even when the device is plugged in.
