I am having a strange issue with wifi connection to some routers.
After connecting with wifi, within 30secs all the connected devices are disconnected and the router needs to be restarted. On searching the Internet I found people having similar issues with the wifi chipset. Solution mentioned was to update to the latest driver but it still did not resolve for me.
I could temporarily fix this by changing the wireless mode to "03-11 b/g" instead of "12-11 a/b/g/n/ac". Since I am using it in b/g mode I am not able to utilise the complete bandwidth which can be given by MIMO. I get 4x speed on the default mode but it does not last more than 30sec :(
This problem comes when i set the wireless mode which supports 'n'. Till b/g it works properly.

Below are the technical details:

Laptop: Acer Predator G3-572
OS: Windows 10 1809
Wifi adapter:
Qualcomm Atheros QCA61x4A Wireless Network Adapter
Driver version: 12.0.0.817
Wireless mode: 03-11 b/g (working, but with very less speed)
Router: TPLINK 300M Wireless N Router
Router mode configured: bgn mixed

Any help?

Could you please try disabling WMM(QOS) in router settings, you may have to look under Wireless settings, Advanced settings.

Hey @Jack22, seems to work. I have been connected for a while and there was no need to restart with a/b/g/n/ac mode on :)
But with WMM disabled, the internet speed has gone down by 50% for everyone. On the router also it was mentioned to keep it enabled as preferred.
    Nice to know it works:)

But due to this change, internet speed has gone low. Though I am able use the other wireless modes now but with WMM disabled, speeds are very less. Any thing you could advise here @Jack22?

I am on 1809 build. No, I haven't checked with ISP yet. On searching I could see everywhere it is recommended to have WMM(Wireless Multi Media) on. As soon as I turn it on, I have the original issue with my laptop but everyone is getting high speed atleast.

You could try few more steps before calling ISP. But am not sure whether you have done the steps am gonna give you.

1.power drain: Just check the back of the unit, you can find a pin hole , unplug the charger and turn off the unit. now put a paper clip in the small pin hole and press and hold it for 30 sec.
2.BIOS default: After power drain is done, power on the unit, but as soon as you power on the unit keep pressing the F2 key so that it take you to BIOS page. Press F9 and press Enter than press F10 and press Enter. the unit will restart
3.Try updaing the driver by installing from Acer websites
    4. Check is there any firewall or Anti virus blocking it

@mayurmadnani i suggest you get a proper router to swap the one you have from your isp i recommend fritzbox/draytek etc those are the best ones also the more expensive i have 3 fritzbox (my isp only uses fritzboxes) one 7490 and 2 7360 as repeaters and back home i have a draytek vigor 2600 plus (its old) but best router i had so far never thrust the devices isp's provide you unless they are really good my guess is your current rout its conflicting with the mimo wifi technology of the predator that sucks the fastest speed out of all routers on 5ghz and he doesn't like it so it restricts it when vmm is active as i said a proper router solves the issue i can get exactly the same speeds on wifi on mine as if i were connected by ethernet even @work i can get the same fiber 100mbps/100mbps (speedtest) on the hotel guest wifi same as the ethernet speed of the hotel computers which no one believed in me when i showed it so mimo tech is awesome and i love my wifi adapter

Not sure if that is a router issue. Other laptops (Acer Nitro series with Intel wifi chipset having MIMO support) dont have this issue.

Thanks a lot!!! This worked for my laptop(Acer Nitro Ryzen). I was facing intermittent issue of wifi getting killed as soon as my laptop got connected to the network. No slow down in internet speed for me after this fix.
