I bought my nitro 5 in malaysia about last week it is the one with i5-8300h gtx1050 with 4gb ram model. My problem is when i check the task manager my cpu is on 3.9ghz and my temps on idle with the fan on maximum and coolboost on too is 70°c. When i play games it goes to 95°. I downloaded intel xtu to try to undervolt it. While idle thermal throttling keeps goin on every 5-20 sec. I tried to stress test it cpu temps 95°c thermal throttling too. I undervolted it to -.170v still no change. I tried to disable turbo boost using realtemp it dropped to 60-70 idle 85highest on gaming but my cpu is on 2.19ghz only and other games are unplayable. Do i need to undervolt more or do i need to repaste

It sounds like you need a repaste as a -0.170v undervolt is on the high side already and any further will likely result in system instability. At 95C you are only 5C away from a possible shutdown which I'd consider unacceptable. You've run the gamut as far as other options to lower CPU temps but as you've found they sacrifice performance. Still, bravo for the strategic thinking.
