Hello everyone

I have an Acer Nitro 5 AN515-42-R8B7 and the integrated GPU uses 1GB of RAM of the 8GB that I have

How can I decrease the amount of RAM used by it?

    Hi,
RAM usage is allocated by system and you can not adjust it, so if you need more RAM for other tasks, you need to increase the amount of memory, you can check the usage of RAM in Task manager under memory tab.

For a plain black and white image at 1080p, you're talking around 15-16MB of data a second for 60fps. But given the Windows DWM does some nice rendering so we don't get tearing like back with XP, it needs a little more to work with. Plus we are talking 8bit colour instead of just black and white.

1.1GB of 8GB seems like a large percentage, but given the performance of the iGPU, it does surprisingly well with how little RAM it is allocated. It also saves having to fire up the dedicated GPU just to run Windows (not something you want if you are on a laptop). As far as I am aware, there is no way to disable the iGPU, it's not even considered to be an option.
