Hopefully someone can help me, not so long ago i updated to Windows 10 upon which my computer started to crash when under heavier processing such as watching a youtube video or doing multiple tasks on the desktop at once, you can hear the hard drive working harder at these times. I put it down to being a Windows 10 issue so recently i got the recovery disc out and recovered it back to Windows 7, it was not crashing with this OS before.

But since then the computer is still crashing under the same circumstances above which makes me think this is to do with hardware, i have nothing really installed software wise since i put it back to Windows 7, i dont want to until i get this resolved. Apart from drivers and the usual recovery disc stuff that comes pre installed with ACER computers.

I have tested for bad sectors on the hard drive (right click hard drive, properties then click tools tab and run error-checking to check drive for errors) and have ran windows memory diagnotic tool both have reported zero errors.

I am really stumped as to what it could be really would appreaicte it if anyone can help me here??? This is the second acer machine that has gone faulty on me. First one i have still not being able to fix so im hoping i can fix this one. If i cannot resolve i wont be coming back to acer again as having stayed loyal to them for much of my PC life and feel this is telling me something about there workmanship and qualty.

Ive just been doing some more investigation, had read a article on hardware overheating so i installed something to check temperatures of components and it seems my graphics card is running at 111 celcius. All other componenets are running at around 45. I am sure this is the issue the over heating of graphics card? Can't think why this could be. :-(

Which graphics card do you have? Most try and shutdown when the temp exceeds 100°C. I wonder if the software is reading it wrong? If you open up the side and watch, there should be a fan on the card that's running pretty much all the time.
