Hello, I was talking to customer support and to fix my issue they suggested I poke the battery pin hole on the bottom of my laptop for 15 secs with a paper clip or needle. I did that but as I poked at first I didn't feel a click from a button so I pushed a little harder and felt it "go in " is that correct? It ended up fixing the problem I believe... I just wanna make sure I didn't poke a hole in my battery.  Sorry if this is a silly question.

Ok, I didn't feel like I was pressing a button. How deep is it? Does it feel like a button click?

Yes, there is button inside and you should feel a click. It might not be located right under the pinhole, so you can move around the paperclip until you find it.
Always post the following characterisitcs of the device:
    -Model number
    -Part number(not required, but helpful)
    -CPU
    -GPU
    -Operating system

Helios 300 and Nitro 5 users DO NOT update the BIOS to version 1.22 if you don't want the keyboard's backlight to turn off after 30 seconds even when the device is plugged in.

Oh weird... OK. Well not sure what I did, hopefully not poking a hole in the battery. But the machine works fine.

Is the CPU or GPU that is overheating?..And by overheating do you mean the chassis gets hot?
