Hello,
I suggest you to use the SDD for OS+Apps and the HDD for your data (after formatting). You'll have to move the SDD in first position in the boot order.
--- Don't forget to create the recovery media in factory default backup ---

This is how it's shown in the service manual, if it's 2280 length, it should be M.2 SSD.
