hello - i purchased an Acer laptop Aspire v5-131-2497 (dual-core 1.6 ghz) and was totally amazed at how easy it was to expand memory and change the drive to SSD.  All the components were all smartly behind one panel that was very simply removed using a humble phillips-head screwdriver.  Subsequently, i purchased and expanded the memory of two very similar Acer Chromebooks.

I was thinking that whoever designed Acer are probably the very same people who design Toyota's, in that they are extremely easy to work on.

Today i have spent quite a bit of time researching what my next Acer laptop acquisition should be, but it appears that most of the newer Acer laptops don't allow for such ease in memory expansion.  Indeed, most of the models i have looked at have "soldiered in memory" and apparently don't allow you to put in a different drive.

Is there another Acer laptop I should be looking at that has the same unbelievably easy-to-expand memory and drive?   Or has Acer gone away from being very easy to expand memory?  Usually, i tend to go for the lower specs, and then just improve the laptop to save some  💲💲money.  I am just looking for something a bit faster, perhaps quad-core.  And i dont necessarily need anything special, as far as how it folds or spins, just a conventional laptop is fine.

Nowdays most of the laptops you can easily upgraded with additional RAM sticks and Hard drives. The majority of Acer laptops allow a user to easily upgrade the system memory, hard drive. In most cases, it isn't possible to upgrade a laptop's graphics card. The vast majority of laptops have integrated graphics.
Also, a lot of CPUs contain the GPU, which means that you would have to replace the processor in order to upgrade the graphics. Taking Intel as an example, you'll find that the same or similar GPU is used as you work your way up the Core i7 range. That means that even if you do upgrade the processor, you won't get an improvement in graphics performance. In most of the laptops RAM can be upgraded as most of them contain a expansion slot. But processor is usually soldered onto the motherboard so the processor cannot be upgraded.
Plus, the moment you open up your laptop and start poking around at it's insides, you can say goodbye to your warranty.
