Hello. I want to upgrade my 3gb ram to maximum supported on my aspire 5741G. I looked on specifications and found out that the maximum is 8 gb ddr3 @ 1066 Mhz (PC3-8500)but i installed CPU-Z and it said that my actual ram is 1333 Mhz (PC3-10700). I looked on the ram in the laptop and found out this: 1GB DDR3 1Rx8 PC3-10700 and 2GB DDR3 2Rx8 PC3-10700. I already tried to install 2 x 4GB ddr3 1666 mhz and it isn't working. In conclusion, should I buy 2 x 4gb ddr 3 1066 mhz (as specification) or 1333 mhz (as already installed)? Thank you.

Yes, it's working at 1066MHz, so it's better to get 1066MHz modules because even if you put 1333MHz modules, they are going to run at 1066MHz.0

Hi,
Have you checked the speed at which your current RAM works in Task manager? The maximum supported speed is 1066MHz but if it works at 1333MHz, you can install 2xPC3-10700 modules. I don't know whether they will run at 1333MHz or 1066MHz, you have to go to Task manager and check the speed in Memory tab and let us know the speed of the current modules.

Hi. Thanks for your quick answer. I am using windows 7 so in task manager I am unable to see the speed of the memory but I did a test found on internet, maybe it will be helpful. This is the test below:
Edit: I forgot to tell you that in CPU-Z, on memory tab, it said DRAM FREQUENCY 667 MHz.0 -
