I have a Acer Aspire ES15 laptop. I recently did a system restore to set it back to a specific date. Whilst in the process I plugged in the charger and since then every time I turn on the laptop it comes up with the acer logo and 'diagnosing your pc' it then says cant repair and gives a blue screen with options. No matter what option I pick it wont resolve the issue. I can't get onto windows or home screen. Can anyone help?

Most things can be fixed.  It is merely a matter of perseverance.
The next step is a Windows 10 reinstall.  Download the .iso & burn to a medium of your choice. You probably won't need the license key as it is stored in the UEFI. Hopefully you did manage to create a restore point before the process was interrupted.  If you did not, the reinstall will delete your personal data.
Remember to keep the charger plugged in during the reinstall.
It is a good idea to create system images periodically, to avoid panic attacks.

Unfortunately System Restore is disabled in Windows 10 by default.  If you did not enabled it beforehand, then chances are that it wasn't enabled.  For future reference, here is the tutorial.  Reinstalling Windows 10 would have deleted all your personal data, unless you were able to use the option to save it during reinstall process.

Try a factory reset, external to Windows 10.  The link is specifically for Windows 8.1, but the steps will work for Windows 10.  Plug in your charger before powering back on.

    Hi traceyart,
Before trying the factory reset, please do a bios default and check if that fixes the issue. That helped fixing my computers similar problem.
    For The bios default.
    1) Shut down computer completely by pressing and holding the power button.
    2) Then press power button 1 time and immediately keep tapping F2 for 10-12 times to enter BIOS.
    3) Now press F9 1 time and hit Enter.
    4) Press F10 one time and Hit enter.
Computer will restart. Check if it boots up or still getting the message.

If still getting the message follow the factory reset with Alt+F10. Steps to follow.
    1. Press and hold the Power key for 5 seconds to power the system off completely.
    2. Press the Power key to turn on the computer.
    3. Press the Alt and F10 keys at the same time when the Acer logo appears on the screen. Your system should boot to a blue screen that says Choose an option.
    4. Select Troubleshoot.
    5. Click Reset your PC. This process will erase all data on the your system. Choose the Refresh your PC option if you want to restore your system and retain your data.
    6. Click Next, then select Just remove my files.
    7. Click Reset to begin the recovery.( Make sure that charger is connected before starting the process)
Please let me know if this fixed your issue.

    Hi
Thanks for the help. Unfortunately when I get to the ' reset PC'  it keeps saying 'There was a problem resetting your PC. No changes were made.'
Every option in the troubleshoot section doesn't work. Any more suggestions to help this problem?  Can it be fixed? Thanks.

Thank you. I have installed Windows ten onto the laptop. I downloaded it onto a USB from my other laptop. So I have now got my laptop working again. If the restore point was successful how will I retrieve the files that were on it before the new install?  Thanks for the help.
