i would like to know is there any chance of damage to my laptop since the temperature while gaming is too high( cpu varies from 85 to 95 degree and gpu at 70 or 80 degree depending on the game).

No damage can happen as the CPU is designed to run up to 95 C and then it auto throttles its speeds to cool off.

Of course the lower the temperatures the better for best performance.

    Try undervolting.

thanks for the comment bro...i tried intel xtu and undervolted -120 ...i got a difference of approx 10 degrees anyway....but sometimes it automatically resetting to 0.....

when i reduced the processor state in windows power settings (minimum processor state to 1% and maximum processor state to 99% it gave me difference of about 20 degrees(cpu was stable at 70 degree and gpu at 80degree)
but i faced framedrops (not everytime, very rarely)

XtU is decent but like you said it resets randomly.

Throttlestop has a feature called "Speed shift epp" that gives additional temp savings. I definately suggest you give it a shot, you will be suprised.

Dont set max processor state to 99%, it basically disables turbo boost so for example on my i7-8750H it had a max clock speed of 4.1GHz.. but if I disable turbo boost my max is 2.2GHz... thats most likely why your having frame drops bro.

In the throttlestop remix video it caps CPU speeds to 3.2GHz as well as undervolt and adjusts speed shift, so you drop -15 C roughly and save battery as well.. and 3.2GHz is well above even the highest recommended CPU speeds for all the latest games so no worries there.

If you have the i5-8300H cpu then use this.
It's the entire Throttlestop folder with the application and everything.

    Hello,
I bought the predator helios 300 almost 3months ago, it's specifications are Core i7 7700HQ 2.8Ghz, Gtx 1060 6GB GDDR5 , 16 GB ddr4, windows 10 home 64 bit. Once I bought it, I installed Far cry 5, and it worked perfectly, no overheating problems, predator sense fan control was placed on auto and it cooled itself perfectly but recently, I've been trying to play games like Dota2 or CS:GO or even realm royale and I'm suffering from overheating problems with fans placed on max and Coolboost on( Makes fans go above max limit for better cooling) .

At first I thought it was gpu overheating but keeping an eye on predator sense I've noticed that it's a cpu problem reaching temperature above 90 degrees Celsius while gpu temperature is not reaching 80 degrees Celsius. Even now with only firefox on, The cpu temperature is reaching 50 degrees Celsius and I have my tfans on max... ( The room is not hot I've got an AC on and the laptop is placed on a glass table). There is no heavy usage on the cpu ( max reaches 60%) but it's a core I7 shouldn't it be able to handle processes such as having a simple browser firefox open or a game easily?

I'm wondering if there's something wrong with the cpu but I'm not sure because this is the first time I buy a laptop ( Used to playing on a desktop). Anyone know what can I do to keep it cool or what's the cause of it overheating this much or anything at all? Thanks

Said75 theres nothing wrong with your laptop your issue its thermal throttling (temps above 85/90+ it will start to throttling this means reduce performance on the cpu/gpu to reduce the temps down to avoid overheating this is pretty common on all gaming laptops) you have to optimize windows/undervolt and if still needed repaste it with kryonaut or similar follow the links in my signature to learn more about it

@abhinav98 can u send me throttlestop config files i5-8300 (Email: vibhusingh125@gmail.com) as your dropbox link is inaccessible. It would be of massive help.
