Hi, I bought this acer 515 51-g about 3-4 months ago and when it arrived i played a lot of games and it used to heat up to 85-90 c. now when i am using and not playing games just surfing the internet i can feel the fan running. Is it normal for the fan to run when i am not doing heavy tasks.
My PC freezes many time when i am watching videos and it completely stops working and i have to wait for a while for it to unfreeze again and ply the video again. This happens when i using firefox also.

My laptops top left part and the part where the hard drive is installed is heating. IS THIS NORMAL.

get a laptop fan, they're relatively cheap, I got mine at super walmart for $10. They come with 1 or 2 fans and it sits under your laptop with no problems with being level, it'll keep your device from overheating. :)

    Hi rex12z,

Does the laptop freezes ONLY while watching online videos? If it is so, requested to try get into "Safemode with Networking" mode in your computer and check playing videos. Please follow the below steps to start your PC in "Safemode with Networking".

    1. Press Windows logo key Windows logo key  + I on your keyboard to open Settings. If that doesn't work, select the Start  button in the lower-left corner of your screen, then select Settings .
    2. Select Update & security  > Recovery .
    3. Under Advanced startup, select Restart now.
    4. After your PC restarts to the Choose an option screen, select Troubleshoot > Advanced options > Startup Settings > Restart.
    5. After your PC restarts, you'll see a list of options. Select 4 or F4 to start your PC in Safe Mode. Or if you'll need to use the Internet, select 5 or F5 for Safe Mode with Networking.
If the video plays fine without freezing, that confirms that you are not running laptop full graphics drivers. To fix the issue, try uninstalling and re-installing the video card drivers.
