Blue Screens

On my Acer Predator G9-791 laptop I randomly get blue screens.  It varies how often it happens but has been happening since soon after I got it almost 2 years ago.  In the last few weeks I've had it happen three times.  I tried updating the Intel graphics driver with the newest one on Intel's website but my laptop seemed to slow down after installing that so I rolled that driver back.  Does anyone know what might be causing this?  These are the error messages that showed up on the blue screen in the last few weeks:

Error#1:
Stop code: SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION
What failed: igdkmd64.sys

Error#2:
Stop Code: IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL

Error#3:
Stop Code: KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED
What Failed: igdkmd64.sys

Thanks!

Instead of updating, you should try completely uninstalling the Intel driver, and restart the laptop to allow Windows to install the driver. When uninstalling, check 'Delete this driver software from this device' and restart the laptop. Once the laptop is back on, update the Intel driver through device manager, selecting search Windows Update automatically.

Thanks for the response.  I just tried this and for some reason it seems to slow down my computer a little bit so I rolled back to the previous drivers.

    Hey guys!

I was/am having the same issues.. I'm into my last year of the extended warranty so sent it back to the seller (laptops direct). I thought from my own research with the fault codes n stuff online that it was a Ram issue or a hdd problem because sometimes on starting it couldn't find the boot drive, but laptops direct said they tested it and it was a software issue, so I reluctantly let them wipe it and stick a fresh install of Windows 10 on it (Loosing my legit copy of Ableton that a friend had gifted me!).. So, I've had it back about 2 weeks and although I've not yet caught it in the act of blue screening and restarting, I'm sure it is doing so! I've just lost over an hours worth of music I'd recorded earlier while I was out doing family commitments!

Probably also worth noting when I had it back that it seemed to be a very striped back version of windows compared to what it was when I had it new.. No drivers for the video card on it. Out of date VGA drivers.. No predator sense.. But it was saying that everything was up to date!!??

    It's a G9-791.

Any info or possible other things I can do to test it out welcomed and appreciated!

    Thanks

Go to Acer's driver download page and install the Realtek driver for your model.

    https://www.acer.com/ac/en/US/content/drivers

Once you've installed it reboot your laptop and right click the start button > select device manager > find the Realtek driver > right click > properties and "Rollback" if the version doesn't match the version you just installed.

You can also use a program like bluescreenview to view old/missed BSODs.

igdkmd64.sys bsod its usually video driver conflict within Windows and the IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL could also be derived to the same or night be hardware hdd/ram according to my experience in bsods since win xp :) but if you search on google i'm sure you will find a way to identify the issue @Maff_C i also got mine G3-572  from laptops direct (on finance)  no issues so far but if i had i would not send it to them i would go directly to acer as the stores who resell for the manufacturer's usually screw it up even more with lame excuses of what's wrong with it and try to give you an easy and cheap fix which won't fix it at all lol this is why any issues the best to do is go to the manufacturer not to who sold it unless whoever sold it already had registered your serial in the manufacturer's warranty system (which they shouldn't it is yours not their's) to lock you with them when something happens :)
