Dear Acer community,

As the title says, my new SDXC card (Transcend SDXC 300S 128GB Class 10 UHS I U3 V30 A1, https://www.transcend-info.com/Products/No-841) Won't be detected by my Acer Aspire ES 11.
This is what I've tried so far:
- Updating all my drivers
- Checking for any warning signs in Device Manager. There weren't any.
- Seeing if the SD port might be disabled in BIOS (which it wasn't)
- Checking for possible pieces of plastic on the SD card which i might have forgotten to take off.
- Seeing if other SD cards worked (I tried a micro SDHC in a adapter which worked fine. I don't have anything else around that I could try)
- Plugging it into another computer, on which it worked fine. It told me to format the SD card before I could use it, which I did. After this it still didn't work on my Acer Aspire ES 11.

I have tried to look up online if the Acer Aspire ES 11 ES1-132-C0R8 might be incompatible with SDXC cards but I wasn't able to find anything.

One thing that might be noteworthy, is that at one point it seemed to be detected by my pc but soon after it looked as if had been removed. Once I actually removed it and reinserted it, nothing seemed to happen.

My OS is Windows 10 Home if that might be of any importance.

I hope I have provided enough information. Thank you in advance for your help,

As per official documentation this device supports :

Please try to  download and start using free SDFormatter application.  Format on my SD card in exFAT which is not what you would normally choose.
    Before starting, backup your content.
In Drive (check, which is the letter of your card), is automatic.
    In Size, is automatic.
In Volumen Label, is to your liking.
    In Option, Format Type: Quick.
    Format Size Adjustment: On.
Format (exFAT), is automatic, because it is SDXC.
Click in Format button (below), and ready.

Let us know the status of the issue. We will be glad to assist u further.

If you have no other drive installed, the SDXC card does not show up as D drive in File Explorer?
Is it possible that the new card may be damaged, ever so slightly, just above the write-protect tab; so that it is not properly locked in place?

Thank you for your response Sharanji.

I downloaded SDFormatter on my laptop to format my SD card, but SDFormatter also wouldn't detect my SD card so I couldn't format it.
When I downloaded it on another computer and inserted the card, SDFormatter would detect it, so I formatted the card as you suggested.
However, my laptop is still not able to detect the card, even though it can detect other SD cards and even though this SD card can be detected by other computers.
I also tried a full format instead of just a quick format, but this made no difference.

So I am still not closer to any solution. The SD card is formatted yet still wil not be detected by my laptop.

Have you got any other suggestions?
Thank you for your help so far,

Thank you wis for your response,

I am pretty sure that the SD card is not physically damaged, because it wouldn't work when I first inserted it into my laptop right after opening it from it's packaging. Besides that, it does work on other computers and other SD cards work on my laptop, so I don't suppose the SD Port on my laptop is broken either.

I am not certain what you mean by your first question though: "If you have no other driv"e installed, the SDXC card does not show up as D drive in File Explorer?".
Could you explain it in a different way?

Thank you anyway for taking your time to help,

In the image of File Explorer below, there are 2 HDD's (C: & D) & the optical drive, (E:).  As you explained in your 2nd post, the SDXC is not being detected. Assuming you have only 1 HDD & no optical drive, it sounds like the card is not showing up under "Devices with Removable Storage" as D drive. If it's not locked into place, it will not be detected in File Explorer.  I guess it's a combination of faulty locking on the laptop & some deformity of the card that interferes with locking.  If you can obtain an exchange, it would help to troubleshoot.  If the same situation persists with the exchanged card, it would be best that your Acer Center take a look at it.  It's not easy getting into the port.
