I used a Universal dock with independent power. I don't feel any stuttering but my FPS drops a bit while playing in 144hz from 250 to 150-180(CSGO) if 4 displays are running while gaming. I will test it with PUBG and other games later to share some more details.

    here's the link: https://www.amazon.com/Wavlink-Universal-Docking-Ethernet-Ultrabook/dp/B019XOJ874/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1539142488&sr=8-5&keywords=wavlink+universal+dock
There are also newer version which offers DP but still runs on 60hz.

This is dope, Id like to also do this.

Question is though how stable is it? the dock?I have a HDMI to USb 3.0 at the moment and theres a SLIGHT latent feeling.

    Love the setup bro

Agree with @iionas Id like to know just how much latency is involved and perhaps if opting to use C port would alleviate the latency??

when you say stable do you mean the sudden few seconds no display issue when using a typec display hub/usb display hub? If that is, I'm not experiencing it with the dock. Initially, I used the Cport to extend my display but for some reason the display hub that I got can only output display if the HDMI port in the laptop is not in use.

LATENCY, I only felt it when I accidentally placed it to USB2.0 instead of the 3.0 but now I am no longer experiencing it. The only thing I noticed was the drop of FPS in CSGO while playing with all the display running. If I only runs on 144hz extended monitor, my FPS can reach up to 260FPS max(Buttery sweet). While on all display running, I only get about 150 -180hz still not too bad.

I will have more test in the next couple of days to share my experience.

I find that very odd indeed.
Being a C Port and not even thunderbolt 3 (which would be a pcie connection intel based to the mobo) and have it override your hdmi priority is weird...
I might have to delve into the hub scene and snatch something that hasnt been tested yet amd see what results I get.

It will be great as it going to be the cheaper approach rather than my path. The universal dock is not practical at $70. On a side note, I chose this route since it will make my cable management a lot easier since I can just placed it underneadth the table and have extra USB ports as well as LAN. If you noticed my table there's only a few cables attached to the laptop

Might be my HDMI to USB3 which is of poor quality which ill have to get a new one. For now it seems nice enough to work on.

I also would like to buy two quality displays.

I think i might get that dock. Also love the cable management man, mine is horrid.

Goodluck! I suggest you get the latest version of the dock if you'll get one.
