Speaker sound randomly cuts out on Helios 300

Hi all,

I've been trying to solve a problem with my Helios 300.  When I try to play any sound through the laptop speakers, the sound starts fine, but after 30 seconds or so it turns off, then back on, and then off again permanently.  My volume mixer and audio output devices show that the speakers are functioning, but I hear no sound at all. I've already made sure all drivers are up to date.  I've had the laptop for maybe 2 weeks.  Any ideas if this is software or hardware related?

    Another interesting bit, after a restart, the attached dialog box pops up every few seconds and disappears within seconds, before I can even select an option.  Every time it comes up, all speaker sound stops and then restarts when the box disappears.  The box interrupts everything I do, so I had to plug in headphones to even type this.

    Try reinstalling Realtek drivers from Acer's website.

    Select headset at that pop up and choose don't show again.

    I've reinstalled the driver twice now and I still have the same speaker issue. What should I do? It's still acting as if I keep connecting and disconnecting an audio device. Could that be a hardware fault?

    Try disabling fast startup, could be a "air bubble" in startup.

    It looks like a connection issue that is getting triggered... do this: take a air can, and blow gently into the headset out hole. This should help clear that slot of any debris.

    Still didn't fix the problem... I'm not even sure what to do now after a reset.
  • Did you reset the battery or reset the system? It is very likely that the problem will be solved by uninstalling and deleting the driver of áudio until it is only the default windows driver:

    I've uninstalled and reinstalled the driver many times, even using realtek's basic driver provided on their site. Like sri said, this seems like it might be a connection issue.
  • I know you that you uninstalled the driver! However what I said is you should uninstall and delete the realtek driver and let windows download the default driver! Then check if disabling quick startup resolves the problem! I do not think this is a connection problem, but a driver problem!

    I told you I've done that numerous times, exactly as you've stated.. No need to get upset about it. I don't know what to do now on the software side of things.

    Try this:
    a) put the computer in high performance in the power options (probably should already be):

    b) Have you tried restoring the system to factory defaults by pressing alt + f10 when turning on the notebook? So we could rule out the possibility of being a hardware problem!

    After multiple full resets, the problem persists. No speaker sound at all. Now headphones crackle and pop as well.

    About the fact the sound is not working on the speaker, plug in the headset and then click the black icon and switch to speaker:

    If this does not resolve, maybe a driver update resolves! Make sure that updating the audio driver with the driverbooster solves the problem! You do not need to upgrade the other drivers because the driver provided by the manufacturer is optimized for your model!

    My laptop is a V3-572. 

    I tried that fix, and nothing was solved. All the issues persist.
  • honestly, the only idea I have now is to update the bios! However I do not think this will solve your problem! Since you already tried to restore by pressing alt + f10 and it was not solved! I consider this to be a problem on the loudspeakers or on the motherboard!
