My Predator HELIOS 300, at random times, starts a series of beeps.

The computer starts a series of beeps (the number of beeps is not the same). While beeping, the computer keeps working, although, one time it turned off. The beeping has happened when the computer is connected to the AC and when working with battery only. I've already updated to the latest version of the BIOS and the problem persists. There is a something else since this problem started, the computer no longer beeps when you plug the AC cable.

@sri369, @Red-Sand, @TECH_MAN I've solved the problem. Turns out, the culprit was a faulty hard drive (a Western Digital). I've removed the faulty HDD and I've been beep free since then. Thanks a lot for your responses.

    Hi @carlos_ds730

if you know how to open your computer just open it, and take out the ram memories and put again in their places. that's all.

TECH_MAN I did it and the beeping keeps happening  :/
  • Are you sure the beeping isn't from the "sticky keys" setting in predator sense?

Next time it occurs, check the sequence of beeps - count, length, etc and check online. Generally beeps means some kind of issue encountered by motherboard due to some malfunctioning hardware.

@sri369 The number of beeps seems to be random.

@sri369 I've noted that it makes 3 consecutive beeps, then waits a little bit, and then 3 beeps and the process continues. I know 3 beeps mean a motherboard failure, but it's weird that the computer makes those beeps and keeps working.
  • Is it like the sound your laptop makes when unplugging and plugging in the power cord?

Three beeps that repeat after a pause and occur when you power on your computer indicate a problem with the system memory.
Try pulling out and reinserting RAM modules.

This is pretty much standard on all motherboards - universal codes in the form of beeps.

The doesn't occur when my computer powers on, they occur while the computer is already booted and working.

I've cleaned the RAM but the problem persists.

Cleaned RAM... tried changing RAM modules? It could be a problem with RAM too, isn't it?

@carlos_ds730 thanks buddy, now i know 3 beeps is also for drives, not just for memory.

@sri369 Today I connected the HDD in an external case (I needed to copy the info in the HDD), and it started beeping. So, all this time, the beeps were coming from the HDD itself and not from the MotherBoard.

@carlos_ds730 Thank you carlos for this specifics... so my first analysis still holds good, except that hard drives also could beep. But this is something I never knew before - that hard drives also beep.

Not sure if anyone will reply but... Just a few minutes ago I was playing the Wither 3 on my Helios 300 G3-571 and I heard 2 beeps and it only happened once... Does anyone know what it could be or point towards....?
