Acer Aspire 5 (A515-51G-515J) audio is terrible

I recently bought this laptop off of Amazon on March 3rd. I've noticed the audio coming out of the speakers sounds really bad. It is far too quiet even with headphones. I have to crank the volume up to 60 to even start to hear anything. This is the latest audio driver for the laptop. I have tried downloading the Realtek version R2.82 audio driver and it sounds so much better. Unfortunately the laptop does not like this driver and auto uninstalls it to go back to the Realtek HD audio (SST) every single time.

Is this the same driver you downloaded from the ACER site v6.0.1.8224?  Jack E/NJ

I need more info here. What do you mean by "every single time" ? "Every single time" what? Every single time you shutdown and reboot? Every single time you use it once?  Every single time you put the laptop in sleep mode? Jack E/NJ

After wasting 30 minutes with an Acer tech with a very strong accent (so lots of "please repeat that"), I fixed the problem of low volume on my Acer Aspire laptop myself.  I don't know if this will help you, but I went to audio manager, clicked on speakers, then on Dolby, and then turned Dolby on.  The sound increased from 10% to 100%.  Formerly I had to hold my ear next to the sound output to hear anything or use headphones (e.g., for Spotify, Youtube, Skype, Zoom). Now everything is fine.  Good luck!
