no bootable service

I have just bought the acer aspire 3 laptop, I'm not clued up, but is it normal for it to say no bootable service on start up..i just want to run it for home base purpose, or I would just like to know how to skip this, I have to keep turning it on and off thank you for any replies

    Here are some troubleshooting steps that may help.
    - First, do a hard reboot, remove the battery and unplug the AC adapter then press and hold the power button for 20 seconds then try booting it up again.
    - If it will give you the same error and if you're also using a Toshiba laptop, press and hold the F2 button then turn the laptop on and it should load into BIOS.
    - If it will still not load BIOS you'll need to open the laptop and remove the CMOS battery for a second then put it back in to reset BIOS to its default. (make sure that the laptop is OFF and the battery and AC adapter is off)

    thank you will try the basics unplug and remove back battery, as I said its an Acer Aspire 3 ive only had it 5 days as for opening and replacing battery it can go back to Argos! if I have to do that

    It is definitely not normal that a new laptop won't boot into Windows.  Here is the Returns & Refund webpage.  Look at the first FAQ. The safest option is a full refund, just in case they give you another defective machine or unable to repair the one you have.
