Hi Guys,

So here's what happened, since where I come from, the ACER Store-sold Predator Helios 300 (G3-571) cost 1800~ USD with downsizing (8GB RAM as opposed to the standard 16GB and 1TB HDD only as opposed to having it and an additional SDD), I opted to have a 250GB SDD (180~ USD) added however the guys that added the SDD only installed a generic Insyde Corp V1.03 as the BIOS.

So I was wondering if it was possible and safe for me to update the BIOS myself (via the links available in https://www.acer.com/ac/en/ID/content/support-product).
Thanks in advance!

  • Yes and its very easy.

Close all other programs and run the file.
Make sure your laptop is plugged in and has at least 70% battery remaining.

Takes about 3-5 minutes all automated.

@Red-Sand thanks for the prompt response!

By file which one of these do you mean? Or are they meant to be taken step-by-step?
Sorry, haven't done this before and am a bit wary if things go awry.

    1. 1. Update MCU version to M2A906E9_00000083_00000084. 2. Update ME to version 11. [...]
    2. 1. Keep SGX variable after flash BIOS and Crisis.
    3. Update VBIOS
    4. Improve system performance
    5. Update MRC code
    6. Enable HWP feature
    7. Add new Panel's information to BIOS
