ACE users know yes about these undervolting programs, which causes the voltage to decrease on the video card or processor and on the troubleshoot program that overclocking the intel processors, especially when it comes to gaming laptops! However, check which of the two programs you are using is interfering with the power options!

Make sure the throttlestop program interferes with the power options, leaving the afterburner msi uninstalled! If the problem still remains, then throttlestop is changing power option settings!

XXXXXXXX . this problem doesnt exist no one ever had this with trottlestop. its the acer ***** dont even reply 3,5k posts lol get a life

  • At no point did I want to upset him or say anything to bother him! Just as you did not know the meaning of cmd "command prompt", I also laughed a lot! However, you can check if there is any compatibility problem between the msi afterburner program and the intel turbo boost program! Uninstall intel turbo boost, if you have installed it!

Make sure there isn't any unwanted programs running in the background like rarely used programs might be running services.
  • You're right @M4rdock ! However, what I asked him was: Why are you using afterburner msi on an Acer notebook? What I really wanted to know was if he was using the program to overclock or undervolting because the program is interfering with the performance of the processor! However he did not get it that way!
At no time did I offend him or say anything to bother him!

Id like to throw this in here...

Just because a frequency readout is showing your clock speeds at max doesn't necessarily mean its running at those clocks.

For example if you were to open Throttlestop and use its monitoring table you might see all the clocks running at 3.9ghz but to the right of it you would see something called FID and its at a low percentage.

FID is actually what the processor is running so if you have a clock speed registering at 3.9ghz and FID at 1-2% then your only utilizing 1-2% of 3.9ghz.

If you were to set a speed shift epp value in throttlestop to 0 it would boost the shown clock speeds to their max but FID would show a low percentage. This is because youve set clocks to perform at their maximum so when a task IS run those clocks would immediately begin processing at 3.9ghz even if you dont need 3.9ghz to complete that task. The result in running a task would also increase FID to 100% showing the clock speeds are now being fully utilized. You may even see clock speeds dip when a task is run due to the fact that the shown clock speeds are not actual speeds IN USE but rather their "ready" clock speeds.

This can also happen when performance is set to high for your system. As the constant higher clocks would be "ready" to run any given task at their max speeds. (For example setting minimum processor state to 100%)

    Hope this helps.

  • It helps to understand a computer and how it works before tweaking values and not understanding the result.

They make consoles for people like that to game on. 👍👍👌👌👌

Im simply responding to your posts with answers. 😃

MSI Afterburner works fine on all Helios 300 models. Perhaps you're referring to power limits and fan controls?

In which case im sorry to inform you but those options don't work on any laptop as it is a desktop feature.
Those features can be unlocked but they do not function properly (again on any laptop) and can cause more problems then solve. 👍

Having throttlestop not work on bootup can be a few things.. if you've recently updated to TS 8.70 I'd like to mention that the old ini (config) file doesn't work when copied into the new Throttlestop's folder. Everything must be setup new as many new features were added. 🤗

Forgive us if we are making you angry as we simply state facts. 😅

FYI: CMD is "Command prompt" 😄😄🤗🤗

For all the big talk about knowing computers... sigh! I am surprised you aren't banned or this thread disabled. Acer sells laptops and provides drivers for its hardware, but does not develop OS for these kinds of issues.

This option isn't available in the Helios 300's power menu.
