hello
I recently had my new system built (yesterday) and I am having a few issues with the Acer XZ321QU Curved Monitor.
When the monitor is running at 144hz there is a lot of static coming from the speakers, as well as the screen being dotted all over with red pixels.
When i drop the monitor down to 120hz the red pixels reducded and the static from the speakers reducded significantly.

The problem disappeared completely when the monitor was dropped down to 100hz. Does anyone know what the issue could be?

It has a fresh install of Windows 10 and all the drivers are up to date.

Current spec of the system is:
Intel Core i7 7820x
GeForce 1080TI 11GB
Asus ROG Ramapge VI Extreme

The system was only buiklt yesterday, and the problems started to arise straight away. Any help and advice would be much appreciated as I was not expecting these issues with a new monitor.

    Hi
    @dingab88
Trylowering your monitor's refresh rate 1Hz at a time until (maybe) it goes away using Nvidia Control Panel.

    >Open Nvidia Control Panel
    >Display > Change Resolution
    >Customize
    >Select 'Enable resolutions not exposed by this display
    >Create custom resolution
    >Change refresh rate to 143Hz or lower
    >Test it, if it doesn't change the green tectures, lower it more
    >after testing it click okay, then select the custom resolution from the list to apply it.

the only thing that seems to sort the issue is going through my display settings and reducing the refresh rate there. It only stops when i set the refresh rate to 100hz or lower

Sounds like the cable isn't fully shielded, producing interference that causes the symptoms. Double check that it's well seated at both ends and maybe try a different cable.

thanks for you help mate. It gave me an idea. Which worked and solved the issue.
Basically the HDMI cable couldnt handle anything over 100hz well, so i switched it out to a display port cable, and that has solved both the pixel issue and the static sound issue

Was the HDMI cable one that came with the monitor or from a third party? It'd be nice to know which to avoid...
