Predator Helios 300 GTX 1060 120 FPS over HDMI 2.0

Does the HDMI 2.0 of Predator Helios 300 (PH315-51-78NP) outputs 120 fps? assuming i have an external monitor that can receive 120hz over
hdmi.

    Sorry to inform you but this device does not go beyond 60Hz

    No I can hit 75hz on my 75hz monitor

    @Rudy21 may be correct. Your HDMI display may be able to be set for and reported by Windows as 75Hz refresh rate input but the display adapter gpu itself may only be capable of 60Hz output with factory driver. Jack E/NJ

    Yeah I've seen that spec sheet many times. 

    I currently have a FB group (about 4,000 H300 owners) with hundreds of members using 120+ hz monitors.

    The physical limitation is in the monitor itself not the Helios.

    One guy even has it running on a 240hz monitor.

    There are test websites you can visit to verify your monitor is outputting at higher hz rates.

    Do you mean the Helios' display adapter's HDMI output? The monitor's display is an HDMI input. The monitor may set to and be capable of handling input refresh rates a lot higher than the adapter's refresh rate output capability. I think it'd be pretty hard for human eyes to tell the difference between a 60Hz screen on a 120Hz capable monitor and a 120Hz screen on a 120Hz monitor. Jack E/NJ

    Both the laptops display and the hdmi display can output higher than 60hz given the right panel.

    @Red-Sand These seem to be monitor input settings only, not GPU output settings or actual screen refresh frequency.  If the monitor is set for 144Hz input but is actually being fed by a 60Hz max GPU, the actual screen refresh frequency should be 60Hz not 144Hz. Jack E/NJ

    FYI: "Monitor Input Settings" update to reflect nvidia GPU output.

    So if you set monitor display propertiesto 60hz it changes nvidia gpu output to 60hz and vice versa with 144hz.

    Some might interpret that differently @Red-Sand . Still looks like the nvidia software is selecting the monitor input not the GPU adapter output and applying input settings to the monitor not output settings the GPU adapter. In other words, GPU adapter output doesn't necessarily reflect monitor 144Hz input refresh rate but GPU will adjust to as close as its capable of. Still looks like GPU max refresh output is 60Hz at least with the ACER drivers for the factory GPU adapter. Jack E/NJ

    No.. the Nvidia GPU control panel cannot provide the option for high hz if it's not possible & locked from the BIOs.
    (I've worked with locked BIOs many times from Lenovo rigs)

    Additionally V Sync would match FPS to a monitors refresh rate (Which in this case it does @ 144fps/144hz)

    Do you even own a high hz monitor? Or a gaming rig?

    I have a H300 and a 144hz monitor which supports 144hz via hdmi, but I can't get more 60hz. I don't know what is the problem because the monitor does support 144hz via hdmi and so does H300 but I can't get 144hz. Is there something with bios that I should do?

    AEs7There likely is no problem. While the internal & external graphics output might be capable of higher rates in theory, they sometimes aren't in practice due to many different hardware, driver and yes even BIOS variables. Even our Helios magician  @Red-Sand would probably agree. :) Accordingly, this is why specsheet graphics refresh rates are almost always listed as 60Hz max, exactly what you are reporting for the HDMI 2 port.
