hi all, i see i am not the only one that suffers from the Acer support centre not answer questions with regards to hardware queries. I wanted an answer to my question does 2666mz ram work with my Acer Predator PH317-51-720W. I have no name 2400mz in it at present and wanted to know if i benifit by using 2666mz or not. I have had answers from the forum that it should work but i wanted a definate answer and if so what gains would i get. I was planning on getting 2x 16Gb extreme ram from Corsair, but they also have this problem in replying to queries as well. I would appreciate any definate answers from members that have this type of ram installed in this model of laptop

Switching to 2666Mhz RAM will not provide any benefit since your CPU is rated for DDR4 2400Mhz max:

The RAM will most likely run at 2400Mhz. But, it's also possible it runs at SPD speed which is 2666Mhz. With an unlocked bios, you can set RAM speed yourself and even overclock it slightly (but requires a hardware programmer).
