Hello, I have recently acquired this laptop and put in Windows 10.  I have downloaded the drivers from the Acer support site using the SNID.
However, the two finger scrolling doesn't work, and under the options only one finger gestures are shown.
Since then I have searched forums and tried different drivers without success, including using the Windows update to download the driver from Microsoft.  The current version of the drive I have installed from the internet is v19.0.9.4.

Did anyone else ran into the same issue?  Or just that multi finger gestures are not supported on this model?

thanks.

    Hi,
Try the shortcut keys ->press the Fn key and the F6 or F7 key. its a toggle so press only once. if its still having the same issue. then try to reinstall the touchpad drivers.
    >>>
open Device Manager, right-click (or press and hold) the touchpad driver, and select Uninstall. Restart your device and Windows will attempt to reinstall the driver.

    1. Run the touchpad detection utility. It will help the touchpad and main board sync up.
    2. Run the touchpad detection utility again and pay attention to the name of the hardware reported on the screen. Read whether the device is identified as Alps, Elan, or Synaptics. If the device is Alps, then install the driver from the Acer drivers and manuals page.

@Christy1, yes already tried that no luck. :-(

egydiocoelho, I have tried all 3 drivers, alp, elen, and synaptics.  (Hardware ID indicates it is a synaptics touchpad).  I just tried this driver from Acer support site TouchPad_ELANTECH_15.6.0.3_W10x64_A.  No options under mouse properties.

Also Try to do simple steps

power drain: Just check the back of the unit, you can find a pin hole , unplug the charger and turn off the unit. now put a paper clip in the small pin
hole and press and hold it for 30 sec.
BIOS default: After power drain is done, power on the u nit, but as soon as you power on the unit keep pressing the F2 key so that it take you to BIOS
page. Press F9 and press Enter than press F10 and press Enter. the unit will restart

Hi Jack22, ran the utility and it only listed LAN and Wireless adapters, doesn't list anything else.  I am using the tool from this url.

Here are my current settings with the Microsoft Update driver. As you can see, only one finger gestures present.  I seen some post mentioning about a setting in BIOS (between basic and advance for the touchpad), but I don't see it there.

    Hi Fatwhy,
    1. Modify Touch Pad Settings

If your laptop doesn't feature a touchscreen display, then you will need to use a mouse to revive the unresponsive touchpad on Creators Update.

    1. Follow the path: Start button > Settings DevicesMouse & touchpad option > Additional mouse options.

    image

    2. Then the Mouse Properties window will open. Go to the tab that names your laptop's touchpad, usually named the brand + touchpad model.

If you don’t see such a tab, turn to a tab labeled Device Settings or ELAN where you can find your touchpad listed under Devices.

    3. Click on that touchpad to select it, and then click the Enable button.

    Solution 3: Update TouchPad Drivers

In many cases, the device not working properly problem is caused by faulty or outdated device drivers. The solution is pretty simple, updating the device driver alone will do the trick.

    1) Press Windows key and X at the same time, then choose Device Manager.

    2) Expand category Mice and other pointing devices. Then double click the touchpad device driver listed here.

    3) Navigate to Driver tab and then click Update Driver Software…

    4) Then choose Search automatically for updated driver software.

    Hi@Fatwhy,

Try to delete the driver and install it from the acer support site.

    https://www.acer.com/ac/en/US/content/drivers

Try this step as a small attempt.

I have good news to report.  I have installed Ubuntu on the laptop to see if the scrolling function works.  It does work under Linux, some that rules out hardware issue.  Under Ubuntu it identified the driver as Elan.
So i reinstalled Windows 10, reinstalled the Elan drivers for windows 8.1, didn't work.  Removed and installed Windows 10 Elan driver  Still doesn't work. As a last resort, I installed the driver for Windows 8.0, and that finally worked!
