Hello-

I just purchased a new Predator 17 G9-793-79V5, ran the raid tool to break the raid, pulled both NVM drives, inserted a Inland Professional 512GB 3D NAND M.2 2280 PCIe NVMe, but I can't get the new drive to show up in the BIOS.  I do have it installed in the slot closest to the board (slot 1). Appreciate any suggestions.

Thank you!

Hm. Looks like the BIOS now sees the drive after multiple reboots.

Ok - no joy. It shows up as "PCIe SSD" in boot manager, but I can't seem to do anything with it. :(

    Maybe a silly question..

But have you formatted the unallocated SSD?

Because it doesn't show up in the BIOS, I can't do anything with it. I only shows up as PCIe SSD when I put back one of the 128GB sticks back in the other slot, but it's still not usable. When it's the only drive installed, nothing shows up in BIOS. :(

Ah apologies I misread, thought it was showing in BIOs.

Did you test the NVME SSD prior to disabling RAID?

I did not. I'm recreating the original RAID right now. Are you saying I should then swap out one of the chips and see what happens?

That could be an option but not sure how breaking raid would work (I havent tried that software yet).
I have a m.2 to usb c cable I just hookup to for formatting etc.

I believe the top m.2 slot is the "server" configed slot for the raid so bottom would be NVME

Interesting. I assumed that if I plug in that new m.2, it should just show up in the BIOS and then I can start working with it. Perhaps there's an incompatibility here.

That could be the way it works.. I meant to say im unfamiliar with the raid tool so im not sure how that functions.

I know a raid drive once removed must be wiped to be recognized as a single drive.

Are you sure the tool worked its magic correctly?

Because if its still in raid thats the issue

I just downloaded the Intel Rapid Storage Technology tool. Seems pretty simple to use. But even if I break or don't break the array, I would think the new drive should still show up in the BIOS regardless. Hm.

Hm. Installer can't find drive. Asking me to load drivers. Don't have any. I also wonder if there's an issue with SATA M.2 SSD vs NVMe (PCIe) SSD (I bought a PCIe drive).

Whoa - I think it might be working. Had to run the installer twice.

The first thing I did was update the BIOS. But this helped me:
